New Emergency Service Feature for Inmarsat’s IsatPhone 2 with GEOS

Following it's launch into the market last year, the Inmarsat IsatPhone 2 has enjoyed a successful first year, and we wanted to celebrate that by refreshing the memories of our valued customers on the features and benefits of the ready, robust and reliable handset, and in particular the new GEOS emergency service.

At Satcom Global, we understand the different expectations and demands coming from different markets and individuals operating in remote areas and therefore requiring satellite communications. As these demands grow and users require more than just a voice line, the IsatPhone 2 is readily positioned to fill the gap with its range of benefits catering to a multitude of users.

  • High quality voice calls with call alert function when antenna is stowed
  • SMS and email messaging
  • GPS location and tracking services providing safety and security
  • Robust and rugged handset rated IP65 and designed to withstand extreme environments
  • Fast network registration with connection in under 45 seconds
  • Extended battery life providing 8 hours of talk time and 160 hours of standby time
  • Reassurance of being connected to Inmarsat’s network of global geostationary satellites to ensure call stability and sustained connection

The newest feature of the handset, brings a free of charge service to all post-paid IsatPhone 2 customers, who will now be able to access worldwide emergency response services from GEOS. World leader in emergency monitoring and response, GEOS, monitors devices on all global satellite networks 24/7 and are supported by the IERCC, International Emergency Response Coordination Center in Houston, Texas. The one-press emergency assistance button located at the top of the handset, directly contacts GEOS , which then sends location coordinates to the IERCC, who attempt to make immediate and direct contact with the user. GEOS then make contact with the local and relevant emergency response teams who will be sent to the location for search and rescue where required.

Available now for pre and post-paid IsatPhone 2 users, the new GEOS emergency service function ensures expert help is available at the touch of a button, making it the ideal solution for those in remote, isolated and often volatile where safety and security are of vital importance.

All post-paid users receive this service free of charge, with current post-paid IsatPhone 2 customers required to register online at www.geosalliance.com/inmarsat to benefit from this service. New customer purchasing an IsatPhone2 will benefit from an in-box insert, with details of the service and how to set up.

Pre-paid users can also take advantage of this service, however GEOS charge an annual fee for this – a small price to pay for peace of mind!
