In March, the Satcom Global Oceania team joined satellite network operator Inmarsat, at the Volvo Ocean Race stopover in New Zealand to host a special customer event.
Over 30 fishing and leisure customers joined the Satcom Global team for an evening welcome reception to discuss developments in key maritime communications services such as Aura VSAT, Fleet One, and soon to be launched Iridium Certus.
The following day, the party joined Inmarsat for an afternoon out on the water to watch the Volvo Ocean Race in-port race, just off Auckland harbour.
The Volvo Ocean Race is the ultimate ocean ‘round the world’ marathon, with sailing teams battling against each other over 11 legs, in the toughest of conditions, to take the trophy.
