Since its launch in 2005, Inmarsat’s BGAN has been providing a reliable and quality satellite communications service for remote based land users all around the world where terrestrial and mobile networks aren’t available. These end users come from a diverse range of industries and geographies, and therefore the portfolio of services has developed and grown to serve different budgets, requirements and usage patterns.
With Satcom Global BGAN Your Way, we aim to make the process of selecting a service more simple and straightforward, so that even with the wide choice available, our customers maximise their investment by identifying the key differentiating features for the service most relevant to their needs.
Our BGAN Your Way Comparison Chart accessible here, was designed to assist our valued land based customers in narrowing down their options, by describing the services in detail and highlighting who the services are most suitable for, by navigating users through the key features and differences of the services available.
Going one step further for our customers, Satcom Global has also created the BGAN Your Way Interactive Flow Chart accessible here, which enables users to answer series of questions about their communications requirements, to generate our recommendation for the ‘right’ BGAN service for them.
We hope that combined with our BGAN Your Way service round up below, our new BGAN Your Way materials are useful and can help our customers make the most of their satellite communications services.

BGAN
Inmarsat’s flagship Broadband Global Area Network, known as BGAN, provides simultaneous voice and broadband data, offering reliable communications on the move with its priority status on the network enabling mission critical applications. Available in a wide variety of service plans, there are also a range of global and geographic money bundle options.
BGAN Standard +
As many BGAN users require variable usage, Inmarsat has recently introduced BGAN Standard +, where users can combine periods of low use with bursts of high use when a project or incident demands it, accessing cheaper per MB rates without having to change plans. The flexible tiered data plan offers 5MB data per month at a low cost fixed monthly subscription with access to an additional five bands of data which are only charged when needed.
BGAN SCAPs
To save costs and share the benefits of BGAN across a group of users such as an organisation, Inmarsat offer’s BGAN SCAPs (Shared Corporate Allowance Plans), where users get one bundle of data with multiple SIMs ranging from a quantity of 10 up to 250. Companies around the world with multiple satellite communications users can benefit from sharing a subscription, and don’t forget to ask about specific SCAP’s for use in China and for Humanitarian projects.
BGAN Link
For remote workers operating in a fixed location, BGAN Link offers high volumes of data with unlimited data packages available. BGAN Link is an ideal primary communications solution enabling companies to set up a remote office and access standard workplace applications in a short timescale. as well as a popular back-up service for VSAT. BGAN Link is available in various subscription plans from Global AYCE plans as well as special geographic rates for certain regions, including two plans for use in Sub Saharan Africa.
BGAN HDR
Inmarsat’s BGAN HDR (High Data Rate) is the video quality, high-speed streaming service offering guaranteed data rate streaming on a per minute basis.
