Beam Communications: Oceana Terminals Now Serving All Industry Sectors

Beam Communications, a leading global manufacturer of satellite communications equipment for both the Iridium and Inmarsat networks has recently announced changes to their Oceana and Terra terminals. All terminals manufactured after 1 August 2015 can now be operated with any standard GSPS, IsatPhone Link or FleetPhone SIM cards.

Reiny Gajewski, Vice President of Global Sales at Beam Communications has commented on this saying:

'We want to assist the channel in making these products less confusing. Being able to use either a FleetPhone, IsatPhone Link or GSPS SIM card in the device, it will allow customers to choose the products they want with the Inmarsat service plan that best suits their needs. Making life easier for everyone!’

By allowing other Sims to be used in these terminals, will provide more opportunity for these terminals to be used in different markets and sectors without restriction. Currently the Oceana 400 terminals provide fixed voice communications to vessels, boats and yachts requiring access to reliable voice and data communications whilst at sea, whilst the Oceana 800 has all these benefits plus more, including added phone feature, tracking and instant messaging.

In light of these changes, Beam Communications will be discontinuing its Terra range, including both the 400 and 800 terminals, which are now moving into their end-of-life phase. Their Oceana range will continue, providing more features than the Terra terminals, making them an ideal satellite solution for a broad range of market and industry sectors moving forward, with the added flexibility of SIM card choice.
